"Nerdmigos: What A Lovely Tea Party" Trivia!

Here’s some “Nerdmigos: What A Lovely Tea Party” trivia for you!

Did you know?

• Most “Nerdmigos” stories are told in 1-3 panels, some 4-6. This story by Edgar Allen Joe required 11 panels! A first for a “Nerdmigos” comic.

• The opening
semen & blood spatter scene was edited for deviantART.

• I based Insaneo’s grin on The Joker from “Batman: The Animated Series.”
• The legendary Mexican actor Tun Tun inspired the character design for the midget gang leader.

• The midget lowrider seen in the flashback panel was modeled after a classic 1960’s Cadillac.
• In panel 2, the midget character in the lowrider copilot seat kinda looks like Zach Galifianakis, but that was completely unintentional :p
• Insaneo is quoting ‘Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope’ when he says the midgets “are easily startled but they’ll soon be back and in greater numbers.”
• Isma’s laser sword was modeled after Luke/Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber and it’s appearance in this story is meant as a reference to “Nerdmigos: Lightsaber Fail,” where Isma’s collectible Darth Vader lightsaber was “accidentally” broken.
• Insaneo uses a somewhat modified Heckler & Koch MP5 submachine gun in this story.

Nortec Collective Presents: Bostich + Fussible Fan Art!

I'm very happy with how this piece turned out.  I really took my time with this one, learning new techniques, so I could give it that vintage Hermanos Almada b-movie silkscreen poster feel.  Like many other people, coming from Tijuana, I'm very proud of these guys and their work.  If somebody asked me why I made this drawing, I would say, because a) I fucking miss my hometown, and b) Nortec's music reminds me of Tijuana all the time.  So, this one goes out to Tijuana and Bostich + Fussible, who just finished an intense tour in Northeast Mexico. Cheers!

¡Salud!

Facial Proportions For Cartooning

Great cartooning advice from Peter Emslie about facial proportions focusing on three factors for drawing features (eyes, nose, mouth, etc.):

1. Relative Placement
2. Size
3. Specific Shape

Enjoy!
